A Restoration of a Bugsier Tug by Stan Reffin
More progress of the Bugsier build from Stan, again in November 2022
A little more progress from Stan. The pictures show the state of the project as of November 2022, with most of the work now going into painting the model.
Progress as of August 2022
A few more pictures from Stan of the progress as of late June 2022
As of June 2022 a few more pictures of the progress from Stan.
Further to the previous pictures the old deck and its supporting structure were removed and a new deck structure has now been added to allow a more rigid deck to be fitted after the ballast weights were secured on new bearers.
The following pictures were sent in by Mr Stan Reffin of a restoration job he is currently undertaking of a Bugsier Tug. The internals have all been stripped out and new bearers fitted in place with non ferrous screws to enable future removal of all the parts.
A lockdown special for the Grandkids by Jack Stanley
I received the following pictures and text from Jack of a project that he decided to build from scrap bits and pieces found around the workshop during the lockdown. I'm sure the Grandkids will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
Looking at my latest model one might be inclined to say something along the lines of "what the hull's that, what was he thinking"?
Well you must remember it was absolute lockdown, our grandson was doing our shopping and no model shops were open. There are always loads of ply. offcuts from my railway baseboards and one day I was looking at a novelty pencil sharpener in the shape of an ocean liner so I thought why not?
It took me just a week to complete and I sailed it once or twice in an almost empty park, it sails remarkably well and I can say with confidence you'll not see another like it.
