RAF Launch rebuild by Bill Crowther. Ongoing 08/12/2016
One of our ex members, Davreen Lebond , was moving house and contacted KMBC via the Website to see if anybody wanted an RAF launch that used to sail at Wilton Park many years ago.
Bill Crowther has accepted the challenge and these are the photos so far. Bill says that the hull was sound but the superstructure was beyond repair and as can be seen from the photos this is now a twin prop boat. Interesting to see how it progresses. Thanks Bill.

Mystery Project by Jack Stanley 28th May 2017
Hi Cath just a line to say what a good idea building projects is on our website, it would be even better if you could persuade the contributors to include a self portrait so we know who to thank.
To start the ball rolling here is me with my winter building project, so it probably wont float but fear not a long thin grey boat is now on the stocks, I’m not saying what but here is a picture of part of it.
The first person to correctly identify which part of the boat this is will win a free icecream at our open day.

Envoy Tug by Peter Dredge - 2016
Peter sent me a Photo of his Tug at Wilton Park - I saw the Tug on the Day and was very impressed with the boat, a real credit to Peter. I had no camera with me but asked Peter if he had any photos of the Tug. He has been kind enough to share his build photos.
I can only dream of one day producing such a nice boat.

Artigas frigate scratch build - Stuart Raistrick
Some information - Artigas or Riviere frigate is a class of four frigates of French design, identical to the Commandant Rivière class, with extra equipment for tropical climates. Ordered by the Portuguese Navy in 1964, the four ships of this class were constructed at the shipyard in Nantes.
In the 1960s the Portuguese Navy was interested in the acquisition of British frigates of the Leander class, but because of British political opposition against Portugal this acquisition was impossible.Portugal was then forced to buy frigates of an already existing project due the urgency in the acquisition of naval ships for the defense of African, Macanese and Timorese waters.
The two remaining frigates in active service of this class were replaced, in 2008, by the Bartolomeu Dias class (Dutch Karel Doorman class) in the Portuguese Navy. NRP João Belo and NRP Sacadura Cabral were sold to the Uruguayan Navy, becoming, respectively ROU Uruguay and ROU Pedro Campbell.
